Camp Administrator At Mataponi since 1999

Molly Markulics

For more than 25 years, Molly has been part of the Camp Mataponi community, working alongside Marcy and Dan – and now Nikki – in a variety of leadership roles. She began her journey as a counselor, later served as a Unit Leader, and for over two decades has been Mataponi’s full-time Camp Administrator.

Over the years, Mataponi has become far more than a workplace. Alongside her husband, Todd, Molly has raised her own children within the Mataponi community, experiencing firsthand the growth, connection, and confidence that camp fosters. Camp is her happy place – not just because of the setting, but because of the people and the shared values that define it.

Molly feels privileged to partner with families as they begin their camp journey, helping them navigate each milestone along the way. She believes deeply in the values campers live and learn at Mataponi – trying their best, supporting one another, building resilience, and celebrating each other’s successes. There is nothing more meaningful to her than watching young campers grow into confident, capable, and independent young women who return year after year, strengthened by the friendships, traditions, and lessons they carry with them long after summer ends.

Molly and Todd after Ghost Court proposal

Favorite Mataponi Moment

My favorite Mataponi moment has to be the night Todd proposed to me, in front of the whole camp, during Ghost Court! Dressed as a witch, I had no idea what was coming when I was called up to be “sentenced”. I was so surprised when Todd came in and got down on one knee! My favorite part was how he included all 50 of “my girls” by giving them each a rose to give me after I said yes!
