Kasey Tanenbaum Hogan

I fell in love with Camp Mataponi in 2002 when I toured girls’ camps in Maine with my parents, but my journey with the Isdaners began long before that — back in 1995, on a family vacation in Boothbay Harbor.  While my parents were getting our stroller tire fixed at a bike shop, I started playing with a little girl slightly older than me.  As our parents began chatting, they discovered that Marcy and Dan had just taken over an all-girls camp in Maine and were vacationing with their daughter, Nikki, after their second summer.  My parents told them, “We’ll see you in seven years when we tour,” and the rest is history.

I was a camper from 2003 – 2010, a Junior Counselor in 2012, and, after visiting camp with my Green Flames in 2018, I made the decision to return as a Unit Leader – and I never looked back.

For the past nine years, I have worked in education as both a Special Education Teacher and a Curriculum Developer.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Childhood and Special Education.  I often joke that if I ever go back to school, my PhD will be in Summer Camp.

My dream has always been to work alongside the Mataponi team full-time.  I am deeply passionate about Camp Mataponi and about providing campers and counselors with the same experience I was lucky enough to have — one that truly shaped me into the person I am today.  Even as an adult, I am still the most confident and authentic version of myself at camp.

I am excited to continue growing our alumni network, help onboard our staff, and work with campers and their families to ensure that everyone gets the most out of their Mataponi experience, all while keeping our incredible traditions alive.

Most of all, I am excited to share my second home with my husband, TJ, our son, Ryder, and our dog, Callie, for many summers to come.  Mataponi is my favorite place in the world, and it is a dream come true to call this my career.
