Breakfast at Camp Mataponi: So Many Healthy & Delicious Choices!

Laughing campers sit around lunch table

We believe a well-balanced diet is key to a successful summer camp experience. Breakfast, and all of our meals served at Mataponi, go above & beyond the “traditional” summer camp menu and are 100% nut-free. Our kitchen’s number one goal is to ensure that every girl is fueled and ready to take on her action-packed Mataponi day upon leaving the dining hall. We strive to make sure every meal is as nutritious as it is delicious at our all-girls summer camp!

Plenty of Options for All Palates

When campers approach the dining hall, they are met with 4 breakfast buffets. Each morning, one hot entrée is served; pancakes (plain, blueberry and/or chocolate chip), French toast, scrambled eggs, breakfast wraps/egg sandwiches, and homemade breads or muffins. Additionally, there is always a daily continental breakfast consisting of 6 types of cold cereal, hot oatmeal with a variety of toppings, hard-boiled eggs, bagel & toast stations, and our very popular yogurt and granola bar.

The refrigerated yogurt bar is always a hit. With 4 different flavored yogurt options, cottage cheese, fresh-cut pineapple, peaches, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, raisins, craisins, and nut-free granola, you can see why the girls at our Maine summer camp love this station.

Drinks & Fruit for Nutritious Hydration

Individual 4 oz cartons of juice (orange and apple) and milk (whole milk, 2%, fat-free, soymilk, and rice milk) are always readily available for the girls to help themselves at mealtimes too.

Four fresh fruit stations have become a Mataponi staple on our dining room porch.  Strategically located to encourage campers to refuel with fruit throughout the day, our stations are made up of bananas, apples, oranges, peaches, plums, and pears.

Food Allergies? No Problem For Us

Food allergies? No problem! Any campers with food allergies can have their meals prepared exclusively by our allergy-specific chef. This chef works solely on allergy-focused dishes and strives to make food consistent with the main meal being served.

Our goal is to ensure that every camper leaves the dining hall at every meal feeling nourished with a well-balanced diet, an abundance of choices and a full belly ready to take on the fun-filled, action-packed days and nights at Mataponi.
